Injured people do injured things.  Many injured behaviors are maladaptive habits developed from pain, and trying not to feel feelings.  Traumatic injuries greatly increase risks for addiction and suicide, as those most injured will have more pain to avoid.  People become trapped by addictive and compulsive behavior, and many will determine that death is the only way out.  Here we’ll talk about injuries and healing as well as ethical considerations for working with these populations.  People don’t mean to become addicted, and most really don’t want to die.  They just want the pain to stop.  Join us for a discussion that could stir some controversy, as we challenge the ethics of both legal and illegal industries that gladly profit from human pain.  We’ll also focus on personal empowerment as means for true healin
